A community and volunteer support organisation in the Moorlands is calling for creative people to get involved in a new project.
Support Staffordshire is working to develop a bid to Arts Council England’s ‘Creative People and Places’ programme for a project in the Staffordshire Moorlands.
The ‘Creative People and Places’ programme offers grants to consortia of £1million to £2million over four years for projects which increase participation in arts and cultural activities.
A spokesman for Support Staffordshire said: “We are looking for potential partners with ideas and enthusiasm to support the consortium which makes this bid and drives the project if we are successful.”
People can find out more about the ‘Creative People and Places’ programme, the proposal and how people can apply to be part of it, by attending one of three roadshow events in the Moorlands.
Each of the ‘Creative People and Places’ roadshow events will take place from 7pm until 9pm, and the dates and venues are: Thursday, January 31 at The Church Room at Cheadle Methodist Church, 43 Chapel Street, Cheadle; Monday, February 4 at The Lounge at Trinity Church, Derby Street, Leek and; Wednesday, February 6 at Biddulph Town Hall, High Street, Biddulph.
The spokesman added: “Whether you are a group involved with a local museum, library or history project, a group offering arts or creative activities to your members or a venue offering performance and exhibition space, we would love to hear from you.
“Our invitation is also extended to individuals, public and private sector organisations which would like to contribute in some way to this project.”
If you would like to go along to one of the roadshows, contact Carol Sheldon at Support Staffordshire’s Leek office on 01538 381356 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
