Armed Police attend person in distress


Earlier today armed Police among other emergency services attended Argles Road in Leek.

A number of listeners contacted us regarding a large police presence around Haregate in Leek.

Police put a cordon in place on Argles Road and Westminster road while armed Police officers were in attendance alongside West Midlands Ambulance service and Staffordshire fire and rescue.

Police have now said they are attending an incident involving a person in distress and are asking people to avoid the area to prevent causing further distress

Police have issued a statement on the incidents

“We are in the process of dealing with a person in distress, we do not believe there is any risk to wider community.
We politely ask people to stay away from the area to prevent further distress being caused.”
