Biddulph Town Council set to reduce flood risk of Biddulph Brook

Biddulph Town Council has been working with the Environment Agency and other Councils to make improvements at the Biddulph Brook
There has been so much prolonged rain this year that, at times, the Brook has caused devastating flooding incidents in the town. While the Town Council don’t have responsibility for the Brook itself, they have helped to coordinate project that will help to manage the water differently.

This week work begins to put in place natural flood defences along the Brook.

The natural dams will not stop the normal flow of water, but will slow down high flow after a lot of rainfall.

the technique being used will see any of the existing trees being removed and will see the addition of new plants
