Buxton & Leek College student Sarah Stanton will be shaving off her long locks tomorrow – Thursday November 8 – to raise money for the University Hospital North Midlands that saved her daughter’s life.

The 28-year-old, from Leek, who is studying a Certificate in Education FE & Skills course at the College will also donate her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides real hair wigs to young people that have sadly lost their hair due to illness.

Sarah said of her head shave: “I am raising money for the children’s ward as my daughter was there a few years ago with sepsis and they were brilliant.”

“Some of the children are there for a long time and the money I raise will hopefully give them better treatment/ equipment or some more toys to make their stay that bit better.

“I really hope the public will get behind my fundraiser just like the College have and visit my virgin money funding page.”

The big shave is at 10am at the College Hair Salon and will be carried out by the Principal of the College, Len Tildsley.
