Moorlands police are reminding people of the restrictions on car sharing during the coronavirus lockdown and are staying boredom is not an excuse to break restrictions.
Last weekend police in the moorlands stopped a car and issued 2 £200 fines to two 18-year old men who said they were bored and decided to go for a drive with two young adults all from separate households
A spokesperson for the Staffordshire moorlands policing team said
“Boredom is not an excuse to disregard Covid regulations!
Over the weekend we issued a £200 fine to two 18-year-old men after our officers found them to be travelling in a car with two young adults – all of whom were from separate households.
The four individuals claimed they were bored and decided to go for a drive, but this is a clear breach of Covid regulations. “
