Coronavirus: Police urging people to not travel to popular visitor spots in the Moorlands


Police have said that to is good to see local people observing government restrictions during the Covid-19 outbreak. however Chief inspector for the Staffordshire Moorlands, Mark Thorley, says some rural areas are still attracting visitors sharing a photo of the Roaches saying do you really need to travel that far and is rock climbing an exercise you need to do that this time.
Police in Staffordshire also visited a pub who were planning on running a lock in, police spoke to them and instructed them to close.
Police have the powers to enforce the government restriction including issuing fines which may result in court action.

Police have also said they have been inundated by call from people reporting neighbours who are failing to comply with the government’s lockdown which is have effects on the response to urgent calls and messages
