A patient being treated for Covid-19 has died at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
The announcement was made last night and the patient died on Friday March 20th.
Royal Stoke has seen two deaths previous to this among patients being treated for Covid-19
John Oxtoby, Medical Director at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, said:
“Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who was being cared for at Royal Stoke University Hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, has died.
“The patient, 89, had underlying health conditions and died on Friday 20 March.
“His family has been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”
