Dog fouling lands Moorlands man over £600 lighter

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council have been enforcing the restrictions on Dog fouling in the district.
SMDC have recently taken a moorlands resident to court after an incident of dog fouling.

John Hibbert, of Endon Pet Lodge, Endon was landed with a bill for £634 after he failed to pick up after his dog on a public footpath in Endon on 6 May this year. Magistrates fined him £440 and ordered him to pay costs of £150 and a victim surcharge of £44.

Cabinet member for Communities, Councillor Mike Bowen, said: “There is no excuse for dropping litter or failing to pick up after your dog and we won’t stand idly by if we see it happening in the Moorlands.

“We all deserve to be able to enjoy clean and cared for streets and public spaces and I would urge the minority who seek to spoil our environment by such thoughtless actions to consider the impact of their actions and behave responsibly.”
