Hi! It’s Georgia Turner here. I’ve been with Moorlands Radio for just a couple of months short of a year now. I thought it would be nice for you to get to know me a little better – so here goes…
Growing up, I had always shown a great love for music and the arts. At the age of 8, I took up piano, and as the years went on, I did several performances in all sorts of different venues! I even got invited to play live on the radio – the same radio station that I did my work experience with a few years later at age 15. That radio station was Stafford FM. At the end of my work experience, I began doing a bit of promotional work for them, and then I got a phone call one morning at 9am, asking if I could cover the 10am – 12pm slot. Of course, I said yes! That moment was really where my radio journey began for me.
After three years of voluntary work with Stafford FM, I had, by then, finished college, and decided it was time for a change. It was brought to my attention that Moorlands Radio, in Leek were recruiting. I thought I’d apply, just on the off chance that I got the gig, and low and behold, I did.
Finding out the news that I’d got a new radio job was a key point in my life, and was one of the most exciting days for me – ever!
Now, here I am, almost a year on, still loving every aspect of being here with such a fab team at Moorlands Radio, and I’m grateful to be working in such a beautiful part of the country.
