Man Jailed for Eight Years for Aggravated Burglary in Biddulph

A man has been jailed for eight years following an aggravated burglary in Biddulph.

Adrian David Bryan, 41, of St Johns Road, Biddulph, was sentenced at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on Monday (15 November) for robbery, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and possession of a controlled drug of Class A (cocaine).

He pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place on 15 November and to possession of cocaine in June.

Police were called at 6.05pm on Saturday 19 June this year to reports a man had been into a property in Biddulph. The man had was wearing a black woollen ski mask with just eye holes. He threatened the victim with a knife and demanded money. Thankfully, the victim was not injured.

Bryan was arrested within two hours.

DC Halim Fazal, of CID North, the officer in the case, said: “Bryan is a dangerous individual and this is a welcome sentence, as it reflects the gravity of his offence.

“He entered his victim’s home and threatened him with a knife, leaving him shaken and scared.

“I want to thank them for their cooperation throughout this investigation and I hope this sentence brings them the justice they deserve.”
