New Vic Adult Theatre Masterclasses Return

569

After a great response to the free online theatre skills masterclasses created by the New Vic for young people throughout lockdown, the theatre is now inviting adults to learn creative skills from the comfort of their homes.

Due to popular request, the New Vic Education team have now produced two digital masterclasses exclusively for those aged 18 and over to get involved with throughout March.

Deputy Stage Manager Kate Wilcock will present the first masterclass What is a Deputy Stage Manager? on Tuesday 23 March from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. This session will share insights into the role of the DSM, and even demonstrate how to cue a show.

Meanwhile, Head of Design Lis Evans will be exploring Design for Theatre in a masterclass on Tuesday 30 March from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. Design for Theatre will cover the entire design process from initial research to sketchbook and technical drawings, costume fittings, and more.

Any adults interested in learning more about creative theatrical skills and careers can join these New Vic experts for the free digital workshops.

For younger learners aged four to seven and their parents, Teddy Tales storytelling and Boogie Beats music and movement sessions are still taking place on alternating Tuesdays from 3.45pm to 4.15pm, up until Easter. The next Boogie Beats session will be on Tuesday 23 March, and Teddy Tales on Tuesday 30 March.

More information on the masterclasses can be found at newvictheatre.org.uk. To book onto any of the sessions, email education@newvictheatre.org.uk.
