The last weekend before Christmas is one well known for party goers and people spending the night on the town.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and Staffordshire Police are reminding people that it is illegal to serve alcohol to someone who is already intoxicated and that If staff in bars think you’ve had too much they can refuse you entry or service.
an SMDC spokesperson said
“This Christmas we’re encouraging everyone to drink responsibly so we can all enjoy the festivities. If staff in bars think you’ve had too much they can refuse you entry or service! Don’t ruin the celebrations for yourself – or anyone else.”
Staffordshire Police said :
“We’re proud to be supporting Staffordshire Moorlands District Council with this campaign. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable Christmas time”
It comes after Police reminded people that in the last 3 years, Staffordshire Moorlands has had 2 fatalities and 37 injuries due to collisions involving a drink/drug driver
