Police appeal after motorcyclist left with serious injuries

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision in Kingsley Moor over the weekend left a man in hospital with serious injuries.

The collision – involving a motorbike and a VW Golf – happened at around 2pm on Sunday 19 July and took place on the A52 Kingsley Road.

The motorcyclist – a man in his 50s – remains in a critical condition in hospital.

Those in the car – a man and woman – were assessed by paramedics and discharged at the scene with minor injuries.

Investigating Officer, PC Richard Darby from the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit said; “It’s vitally important that anyone who saw anything comes forward so we can ascertain what happened.

“The crash happened in the vicinity of a tractor bearing a hedge trimmer near to Shaw Walls farm and we are looking to speak to anyone caught up in the traffic caused by that.

“We have also carried out home and CCTV enquiries in the local area and are looking to obtain dashcam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to – so please get in touch.”
