Police speak with Children about fireworks following concerns from residents

The fireworks discovered by Police

Moorlands Police have discovered fireworks and spoken to Children about firework safety after concerns from residents in Caverswall.
Police spoke with five children between the ages of 14 and 17, two of which had been involved with lighting fireworks in the area. Police also discovered fireworks in the nearby woods and spoke to the children’s parents.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Moorlands neighbourhood policing team said

“Following complaints from members of the public in Caverswall. Officers from the Moorlands neighbourhood team have attended and spoken to 5 children aged between 14 and 17. Two of the children were identified as setting off fireworks and taken home and spoken to with Parents present. After a search of the wooded area a number of other fireworks have been discovered. #Moorlands Police take firework safety very seriously and anyone seen to cause any anti-social behaviour with fireworks will be dealt with.”
