Rescue operation underway at Thor’s cave


Emergency services are in attendance at Thor’s cave, Wetton this afternoon as a rescue operation is underway to assist two people who are stuck on the side of the local beauty spot.

Staffordshire fire and rescue confirmed they were in attendance alongside mountain rescue crews and other emergency services at around 3:40 this afternoon 28/6/2020

Staffordshire fire and rescue are asking people to avoid the area to prevent disruption to the rescue attempt

A SFRS spokesperson said

“Members of the Fire Service’s Working at Heights team, supported by mountain rescue and other emergency services, are currently helping two people stuck on the side of Thor’s Cave in Wetton. Please avoid the area where possible to prevent any disruption to the rescue effort.”
