Residents in the Moorlands are being urged to be extra vigilant with their properties following a number of reports regarding a suspicious vehicle.
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “We are having several reports of suspicious vans that are being driven slowly passed properties in the Tean and Checkley locations .
“Can we ask that all properties and vehicles are secure and we urge people not to leave anything on show in vehicles.”
Meanwhile, police are appealing for witnesses after a vehicle was damaged in another Moorlands village.
The incident happened on the car park of the Butchers Arms public house in Forsbrook in the early hours of February 5.
