Residents in the Moorlands, who are thinking about standing in the next local elections, are being invited to informative events.
An election for all Staffordshire Moorlands District Council seats, as well as all town and parish council seats within the district, will be held on Thursday, May 2 this year.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has organised briefings for potential candidates and agents which will cover how to obtain and submit candidate nomination papers.
Details regarding the nomination process, timetable and other matters will also be explained at the informative sessions which will take place on Wednesday, March 6 at 5.30 pm and Tuesday, March 12 at 4.30pm.
They will both take place in the Dove Room at Moorlands House in Stockwell Street, Leek.

Meanwhile, residents are being reminded that in order to vote on May 2, they have to be registered to vote.
The last date to register to vote for the forthcoming May elections is Friday, April 12.
However if you are already registered there is no need to do it again unless you think your information may have changed.
If you are away at the time of the elections you may be able to vote by post or proxy.
The deadline for receipt of postal vote applications is 5pm on Monday, April 15, while the deadline for receipt of proxy vote applications is 5pm on Wednesday, April 24.
