Roaches Fire Started Deliberately

A fire at a Staffordshire Moorlands beauty spot was started deliberately say Staffordshire Police.

The blaze started on Tuesday July 20 and crews from Leek, Hanley and Longton along with a water carrier from Cheadle were in attendance over. The service also revisited the scene on Wednesday July 21 but no further action was necessary

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue deemed the fire as deliberate as several pockets of fire were in close proximity of each other. It is believed the fire was started close to the roadside.

Police are appealing for witnesses and enquiries are ongoing. Parols have been stepped up across the area.
