Selfie Opps, Family Fun, Giant Games and More at the Potteries Centre this Summer

To celebrate the long-awaited arrival of summer and the final lifting of all UK lockdown measures, The Potteries Centre is treating shoppers to an exciting calendar of events over the coming months.

Kicking off with an interactive photography experience, the Summer Instacube, which launches on 26 July, will allow visitors to immerse themselves in Instagram heaven, with the chance to take fun and creative photos and selfies against a selection of eye-catching backdrops. Featuring a large magnifying glass structure for guaranteed wacky snaps, giant butterfly wings, a large-scale LOVE wall and an indoor garden complete with a turfed armchair, there’ll be lots of opportunities for shoppers to up their ‘gram game.

For those who’ve been inspired by the summer of sport to get competitive with friends, the centre is bringing back its giant games to the mall complete with its larger-than-life versions of Connect 4, snakes and ladders, chess, Jenga, and table football, as well as a play boat for little ones.

The summer also sees the return of The Potteries Centre’s Family Club. Sporting the new name, the Family Rewards Club, the scheme will allow members exclusive access to a range of discounts and rewards from Potteries stores and restaurants to treat the whole family. Members will also receive a membership card to collect stamps after attending various events, with a prize on offer once eight stamps have been collected, they can also show their card in participating stores and retailers to receive the discounts

In addition to its own events, this season will see The Potteries Centre getting involved in a number of citywide celebrations. These include the Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID’s Better World Festival which is a brand new, family-friendly and free festival celebrating sustainable choices for a better world. In honour of the festival, the centre will be hosting a Chillout Retreat at The Hive, with visitors able to take a breather and unwind in a calm and tranquil atmosphere. During the event families looking to make greener changes to their lives will also be able to head to the centre to swap five plastic bags for a cotton shopper which they can decorate and personalise themselves.

Also launched in partnership with the BID will be the Stoke 2000 Art Trail which will see 50 bottle-oven shaped planters designed by local artists on display throughout the centre.

Commenting on the centre’s upcoming events, Amy Whittaker, general manager of The Potteries Centre, said:

“So many people will know doubt be looking forward to a really special summer this year after so many months spent indoors. That’s why we’ve ramped up our summer events to bring a lot more fun to our customers’ shopping trips! Whether visitors want to get creative in our Instacube with friends, or challenge mum or dad to a giant game, there’s certainly something for everyone over the coming months.

“It’s also great to be relaunching our Family Rewards Club which will provide families with even more opportunities to have fun and spend time together. It’s certainly set to be a summer to remember, with over six weeks’ worth of exciting events to look forward to.”
