Staffordshire Moorlands District council is set to invest £90,000 in refurbishing facilities at a town centre Bus station.

Residents and visitors of Leek have been keen to see refurbishment in the toilets at Leek bus station for a while and from next week work will begin on a refurbishment project

Work will start on Monday 24 February and the toilets will be closed for the duration of the works. Members of the public are advised to use the Silk Street facilities, which include an accessible toilet, in the meantime.

Councillor Edwin Wain, Cabinet Member for Planning, Development and Property, said: “We know that people have been keen to see these facilities at the bus station refurbished so I am pleased that we are now at the stage where work is set to start.

“It does mean that the toilets will be closed whilst the work is carried out and I’d like to thank people in advance for their patience whilst this investment in the town’s amenities is carried out.”
