The Potteries Centre Reopens for Non-Essential Retail and Outdoor Dining

In line with the next step in the Government’s roadmap out of lockdown, The Potteries Centre will be welcoming back customers to enjoy shopping and outdoor dining from today Monday 12 April.

The centre’s non-essential retail offering is set to reopen, including popular stores like Primark, River Island and Superdry, The Entertainer, Next and Game, as well as others that have been operating on a click and collect basis since November.

Shoppers looking to make a day of it can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining at The Hive where Nandos, The Burger Priest and Chiquito will reopen for sit-down dining with outdoor seating.

Indoor coffee shops and restaurants at the centre will be open for takeaway, and Costa Coffee will also offer a small outdoor seating area.

All standard safety measures will remain in place to keep customers and staff safe. These include the requirement to wear face coverings, a one-way route around the centre, hand sanitisation points and limits on visitor numbers at busier times. The centre teams will continue with frequent cleaning of key touchpoints.

Many of the centre’s familiar amenities, including the toilets, baby changing, and parent facilities will remain open and car parks will operate as normal, allowing easy access to the centre for all visitors.

Commenting on the reopening, Amy Whittaker, general manager of The Potteries Centre, said:

“Following the latest Government’s guidelines on the reopening of all non-essential retail from 12th April, we’re delighted to be able to welcome customers back.

“When stores reopen this month, customers should feel reassured that our teams and stores have been working hard to ensure the centre is a safe place to be and will notice a number of measures that remain in place. Our teams will be on hand at entrances and throughout the centre to welcome and remind customers of safety measures.

“I know I speak for our hardworking team and retailers too, when I say that we’re looking forward to being able to get back to doing what we love, and welcoming customers to the centre once again. I’m incredibly proud of how our teams have all remained positive, and I’m pleased to say we’re now seeing some much-needed light at the end of the tunnel.”

From 12th April, The Potteries Centre’s normal opening hours will resume. Throughout Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, the centre will be open 9:00am – 6:00pm, on Thursdays 9:00am – 8:00pm and Sundays 10:30am – 4:30pm. Some stores may vary and restaurants will stay open later.
