Detectives investigating the murder of a woman in Fenton have today (Thursday) named her as Avan Najmadeen, a 32-year-old mother of four.
Avan was found at her home in Glebedale Road, Fenton around 5pm on Monday 1 October.
A post mortem has revealed she died as a result of multiple stab injuries.
Police are today continuing to make enquiries surrounding the death. A 35-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Victoria Downing from the force’s Major and Organised Crime department, said: “Enquiries into Avan’s tragic death are continuing and we are urgently appealing for any driver who may have dashcam footage from around Glebedale Road on Monday 1 October between 9am and 4pm to contact us.”
Forensic investigations are ongoing at the scene and local officers are continuing with reassurance patrols in the area.
DI Downing said: “Avan had lived in Fenton Road with her four children and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen her or knows her movements over the weekend of 28-30 September, before she was found on Monday afternoon.”
