Coronavirus: Volunteers sought to help vaccination roll out

Support Staffordshire are appealing for volunteers to assist with the community coronavirus vaccination roll out in the Moorlands.

Volunteers are sought in Leek and Biddulph and do not need any medical experience

The role of a Vaccine Support Volunteer will be to volunteer alongside NHS staff teams at local vaccine sites. These support roles will enable effective and efficient roll out of the Covid-19 vaccine and greatly support NHS staff who are embarking upon this national challenge.

A spokesperson for Support Staffordshire said

“Support Staffordshire is helping to recruit volunteers to help with the programme of community vaccination in the Moorlands by assisting with some unskilled tasks.
We are therefore reaching out to individuals, community groups and voluntary organisations, to come forward if they would like to help with the community vaccination programme.

We are looking for people with a caring and organised temperament, and there are particular practical considerations and commitments too, so please read the role description carefully before stepping forward.”
