Stoke-on-Trent’s very own boxing champion – Nathan ‘The Hitman’ Heaney – faces what he admits will be the biggest fight of his career to date on Saturday when he takes on Ashton-under-Lyne fighter Ryan Oliver at the Copper Box Arena.
Not only is this his first contest as a member of the Frank Warren stable but it is also his first appearance on a major TV channel as the event is being covered by BT Sport.
Victory on Saturday would provide a further boost to his ambitions to challenge for a major title in the not-too-distant future.
Nathan took time out from his preparations to discuss the forthcoming fight with Moorlands Radio’s Chief Sports Reporter Dave Stringer:
