Officers are appealing for information after a man was assaulted and robbed in a hate crime in Hanley.
Police were called at 2.15pm on Friday (31 December) to Pall Mall following reports of violence.
The victim, a 43-year-old Asian man, reported to a doctor that an altercation had taken place in Fiction nightclub on Monday 27 December where a number of males had been removed from the premises.
A total of 15 offenders comprising of 11 men and four women, the victim said, were waiting for him and his friend to leave the club at around 1.30am when he was attacked and robbed.
Offenders punched and kicked the victim multiple times on Trinity Street before departing in the direction of Stafford Street.
The victim sustained broken ribs and a serious right-knee injury in the attack, which required surgery.
A gold watch and gold ring (pictured in the attached) was stolen.
The victim has since been discharged from hospital and will be in recovery for approximately three months.
Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time and ask anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack to get in touch.
