Appeal After More than £35,000-Worth of Cash and Jewellery Stolen

Police are appealing for information after more than £35,000-worth of cash and jewellery were stolen in Tatenhill, Burton.

Officers were called at 6.42pm on Monday (19 July) to a property in the village following reports of a burglary.

Police attended and found a secure safe containing two Rolex watches had been stolen along with a quantity of cash.

A presentation box containing 12 watches worth a total of £1,000 was also stolen along with a cuff link collection and the victim’s passport.

The total value of cash and items stolen is estimated at £36,700.

The watches are described as a Rolex Kermit watch worth £9,000 and an engraved antique Rolex watch worth £3,000.

Officers believe the burglary took place between noon and 5pm on 19 July.

The safe and victim’s passport was later recovered on Wednesday (21 July) by a member of the public from a canal near to The Swan Inn in Fradley.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time of the burglary and ask anyone with information to get in touch.
