Appeal after officers assaulted in public order incident

Police are continuing to investigate a public order incident in Stoke-on-Trent where a number of officers were assaulted.

At approximately 10pm on Monday (31 January), a large group of people were engaged in violence outside of a commercial premises on Bagnall Street, Hanley.

Upon arrival to the scene, three officers were assaulted.

They did not require hospital treatment.

A 29-year-old woman, from the Stoke-on-Trent area, was arrested on suspicion of affray and assaulting an emergency worker.

Three men, aged 28, 23 and 56, all from the Stoke-on-Trent area, were also arrested on suspicion of affray.

They have all been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Police would like to speak to a further two men (pictured), who left the scene upon officers’ arrival.
