Appeal after Woman Assaulted While Dog Walking

Police are appealing for information after a woman was attacked while walking her dog.

Officers were called at 8pm to an address in School Drive, Oakamoor, following reports of violence.

Police attended and a 53-year-old woman reported being attacked by two males as she walked her dog along the local canal at around 4.30pm.

The woman said she was approached by two men in their 20s, with Liverpudlian accents, who spoke to her before trying to steal her dog.

They punched her in the face before departing. The dog, a German Shepherd, was not taken.

The victim sustained bruises to her face, two black eyes and bruising to her arms, chest and hip.

Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the area at the time and are urging any witnesses to come forward.
