Baker Gets Trickett-Smith in on Loan from Port Vale

Blues manager Neil Baker has acted swiftly to bring former midfielder Dan Trickett-Smith back to Harrison Park on loan until January 2021.

Trickett-Smith was originally signed by Baker in 2017 following an unsuccessful period in America. He made a total of 69 appearances for Leek Town and scored 27 goals.

He impressed during his spell at Harrison Park and was being watched by several higher league clubs, but it was local League Two club Port Vale who eventually signed him in 2018. He was immediately loaned back to Leek for the remainder of that season.

Since joining the Vale, Trickett-Smith has failed to break into the first team on a regular basis. He has made three appearances and has been sent out on loan to Curzon Ashton and FC United of Manchester.

Trickett-Smith will be a valuable addition to Baker’s squad as The Blues attempt to repeat the success of last season which ended prematurely and was declared null and void due to the Coronavirus.
