Paul will be joined by musical director Ben Atkinson, who is also the musical director of the national tour of Hairspray, which is currently playing to packed houses.

Sweeney Todd – The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street is a musical thriller with superb music and lyrics by the greatest contemporary musical composer, the legendary Stephen Sondheim.

This macabre tale tells the story of the infamous Todd who returns to London seeking bloodthirsty revenge following deportation and imprisonment in Australia. A chance meeting with Mrs Lovett in her East End pie shop brings a deadly accomplice to his schemes, and together they concoct a chilling plan.

Since Victorian times, the public have had a macabre fascination with this murderous tale and this award-winning musical has thrilled audiences in theatres all over the world. It has also been made into a full length feature film directed by Tim Burton.

Buxton Opera House’s Paul Kerryson said:
