The consultation period for people to return surveys seeking views on the regeneration of Cheadle town centre has been extended to allow people sufficient time to respond.
Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has announced the extension after receiving reports from some households in the town that they had not received the newsletter containing the survey which was distributed earlier this month.
Responses will now be accepted up to Friday 24 September.
Council Leader, Councillor Sybil Ralphs, said:
“This is the start of an important consultation for Cheadle and we want to hear from everyone who lives in, works in, and visits the town. It is vital that everyone is offered the opportunity, and given sufficient time, to respond to the survey questions.
“To allow for this to happen, and in view of the comments we’re hearing that people haven’t received, or may have missed, the newsletter which contained the survey I am announcing this extension to the consultation period.
“If you think you haven’t received the newsletter and survey, you can download it from the Council’s website, where you can also complete the survey online, or you can pick up a copy from Cheadle Library. You can also get in touch with the Council and we’ll arrange to send a copy to you.
“We have already received hundreds of completed surveys and both paper and digital versions continue to be returned. I’d like to thank everyone who has submitted their views so far and I can assure you that we are doing all we can to ensure that everyone in Cheadle has the opportunity to participate.”
