City of Stoke womens team to host Stoke City in the semi-finals of the county cup

On Sunday, City of Stoke Women’s team host their Stoke City counterparts in the Staffordshire FA Women’s Challenge Cup Semi-finals.

The team was founded less than five years ago, so making the semi-final is a massive achievement for the club. Meanwhile, their visitors, Stoke City are the standard bearers of women’s football in the local area. They are unbeaten in this competition for the last 12 years and, have won it 13 times, so they will start the match as favourites.

The sport team at Moorlands Radio caught up with City of Stoke manager Phil Bruce to get all the lowdown on the big game.

The match will be played at Kiln Park, Whisper Lane, Newcastle Under Lyme, ST5 4DX with it kicking off at 2pm.
