Congleton Town appoint former Kidsgrove boss as their new manager

Congleton Town have appointed former Kidsgrove Athletic manager Ryan Austin as their new manager.

Austin, who left the Grove just under a month ago, replaces Anthony Griffiths in the hot seat at the North West Counties side.

In a statement released by the club, Austin said: “I am really excited and looking forward to joining the club.

“I’m sure with the existing squad and also some quality additions we can look forward to a successful season and take the club up the football pyramid.”

Austin has moved quickly to appoint his new assistant manager in former Port Vale and Notts County defender Richard Duffy.

Duffy said: “I can’t wait to start working with Ryan and the players and helping the club to progress.”

Griffiths will also stay on with the Bears in a player-coach role.
