Moorlands District Council gets injunction to stop overnight stays at Biddulph business park

Parking up and staying overnight at Victoria Business Park in Knypersley is now forbidden after Staffordshire Moorlands District Council successfully applied for an injunction.

It comes after travellers set up at the business park three times in the last twelve months. The injunction prevents anyone from parking and staying overnight in a caravan, other vehicle or any other structure.

The injunction will be in place from midday on Thursday 26th January 2023 for a period for two years. The Council can apply to extend it further if considered necessary.

Councillor Ross Ward, Cabinet member for Communities, said: “We’ve taken this action following repeated incidents of travellers parking up at this site and staying overnight.

“This is not a suitable location for this type of activity and we have sought this injunction to prevent further occurrences of this behaviour and the inconvenience it can lead to for the businesses and customers at the business park.”

Anyone breaching the terms of the injunction could be fined, have their assets seized or even imprisoned.

Trespassers have until midday on 26th January 2023 to leave the Council-owned land.
