Crews free trapped driver after collision in Stoke-on-Trent

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called out at around 10.57am today following reports of a two-vehicle RTC near to the Festival Park retail park, on the A53 Etruria Road in Etruria, Stoke-on-Trent.

The fire service were called out by Staffordshire Police after a car had been left on its side after being in collision with a lorry and a person was trapped inside.

Crews from Hanley and Newcastle were mobilised and the first crew arrived on-scene at 11.15am. Using Holmatro cutting gear, they began freeing the female driver from the vehicle.

Highways were also requested to clear debris from the carriageway.

The woman was freed by 11.26am and left in the care of West Midlands Ambulance Service.

The stop message was issued at 11.26am but both crews remained on scene to clear their equipment. They left by 11.38am.
