Garrity Joins The Valiants

Port Vale have today confirmed the transfer signing of Ben Garrity from Blackpool for an undisclosed fee.

Hot on the heels of Brad Walker joining from Shrewsbury yesterday, the Valiants have further bolstered their midfield department with the arrival of Garrity who spent his first professional season out on loan at Oldham Athletic making 38 appearances in League and Cup, scoring on four occasions.

Speaking to the press today, Manager Darrell Clarke said:

“Ben is a young, hungry and ambitious footballer who we are delighted to bring to Port Vale. He’s got great energy and fitness levels and I see him an attacking number 8 capable of the box-to-box role.

He enjoyed a successful season on a personal level at Oldham and I believe he has got more goals in him. We are very pleased to have secured his signature and looking forward to working with him in pre-season and beyond and helping Ben to kick on further.”

Garrity is further evidence of the Clubs willingness to invest in young players, and he joins the likes of Jake Taylor and Devante Rodney as not only players to progress the Club on the pitch, but potentially as future transfer targets for larger clubs over the next couple of seasons.
