Hanley Town handed a plum draw against Chester in the Emirates FA Cup

Hanley Town will visit, Vanarama National League North side, Chester in the 3rd qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Chester, who sit 12th in the National League North, defeated Pontefract Collieries 2-0 in the last round on Saturday.

On the other hand, the side from Bucknall have so far defeated Hereford Lads Club, Hinckley LR, Stourbridge and Atherstone Town to reach this stage, and it equals their best run in the competition.

Meanwhile, the winners of the Newcastle Town/Congleton Town replay will face the winners of another replay in AFC Fylde or Farsley Celtic.

Buxton are also through to the 3rd qualifying round of the competition, having defeated Alfreton Town 2-1 on Saturday, they face Northern Premier League side Bamber Bridge.

The Lancashire side defeated Prescot Cables at the weekend.

The ties will take place on the weekend of the 1st October, with the winners receiving £5,625.
