The Leek & District Darts League have reported that their former Chairman has sadly passed away. Phil Keates was well known in darts circles in the Moorlands and through his charity work locally.
Paying tribute to Phil The Leek & District Darts League said:
“The Leek & District Darts League are deeply saddened by the news that Phil Keates has passed away.
“Phil was our Chairman for many years, and under his care the League thrived – and maintained its position as a Leek sports institution. He was a committee man through and through – he was fair, honest, and dedicated.
“Outside of our League, he volunteered countless hours to charitable enterprise, and raised thousands of pounds for worthy causes – particularly the Midlands Air Ambulance.
“He was a credit to the whole Leek community, and Phil will be sorely missed.”
