Northern Premier League West champions Leek Town have confirmed when they will receive the league trophy.
Josh Brehaut’s men secured the league championship on Easter Monday with a 2-1 win away at neighbours Newcastle Town thanks to goals from club legend Tim Grice and the long serving Dan Trickett-Smith.
They will not have long to wait until they are presented with the trophy as it will happen after their next home game- against Bootle on Saturday 13th April.
The Blues confirmed that Northern Premier League chairman Mark Harris will be present at the game and will hand Leek captain Marc Grocott the trophy after the match.
Leek chairman Jon Eeles told the club’s website: “The trophy will be presented at our next home game against Bootle, I am delighted with this as I know everyone is looking forward to it and it gives us an opportunity to plan and make sure we enjoy our last two home games. The Board will be meeting to discuss the finer details so please keep an eye on social media.”
We will have full coverage of the trophy presentation after the Bootle match on the 13th April as part of our Saturday Sport Show in association with Leek Building Society which will begin at 2pm.
