He reached local celebrity status with his work with Leek TV where he and the team had thousands of followers on their Social Media platforms. He often posted vlogs, interviews and community celebrations.

Jim was a serving Policeman based around Manchester. He leaves a wife and two children.

Moorlands Radio Sports Editor Tony Walley paid this tribute to him: “Jim was a lovely guy.”

“The term legend is often used to describe outstanding people – Locko was an outstanding bloke. His energy knew no bounds, his enthusiasm was unmatched and his humour was right out of the top draw”

“He loved all sport but especially Football and I used to enjoy our chats. He contibuted to our sports show on a few occasions and it was obvious he knew his stuff.”

“His passing has come as a massive shock to the Moorlands Community and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.”

“On behalf of Moorlands Radio and our sports team, we send our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his wife, children, extended family and friends”
