A local charity is looking for more volunteers to drive its Community Transport
minibuses. Moorlands Voluntary and Community Transport (MVCT) operates
three minibuses that are based in Leek and provide transport for local
voluntary, community and not-for-profit organisations. Sally Bentley, Chief
Officer MVCT, says “drivers must be aged over 25, and although a bus or lorry
licence is not necessary, we are looking for people who have experience of and
enjoy driving larger vehicles.” Sally added “we are particularly keen for someone
who would be able to drive once a week for a luncheon club in Leek as we have
had two drivers step down from driving recently and we are keen to be able to
keep providing this vital service for some of the most vulnerable members of
our local community”.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, or would like to know more about
the scheme, you can contact us either by telephone 01538 386888 or email
