Local sides learn their FA Cup 1st Qualifying round fate

We could potentially have both a Cheshire and Staffordshire derby in the Emirates FA Cup 1st Qualifying round.

Congleton Town will head to Nantwich Town on the first weekend of September, if they can get past Bootle in tomorrow night’s replay. The Bears were held to a 0-0 draw at Booth Street on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Staffordshire derby will see Newcastle Town make the trip to Stafford Rangers, should Robin Van Der Laan’s men get past Bedworth United in their replay.

The two teams drew 1-1 at the Red Industries Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Having won at Mossley on Saturday, Macclesfield will make another trip across Manchester, this time to face West Didsbury and Chorlton of the North West Counties Premier Division.

Hanley Town have also been handed an away game as they face a trip to Southern League side Stourbridge FC. In the past, the Glassboys have made the 3rd round proper of the competition where they narrowly lost to Wycombe Wanderers.

On the other hand, Kidsgrove Athletic will have a home tie if they can get past Lye Town in their replay. The winners of that tie will host Northern Premier League new boys Harborough Town.

The ties will take place on the weekend of 3rd September, and the winners will collect £2,250 the losers will collect £750.
