Macclesfield Town see off Ashton Athletic to secure the NWCFL Premier Division title

Macclesfield FC have secured the North West Counties Football League Premier Division title after a 4-0 win over Ashton Athletic.

After a tense first half, Neil Danns put the Macc ahead in first-half stoppage time.

James Berry-McNally got a second just two minutes after the restart when he lobbed James Aspinall from around 25-yards out. Forward Tom Clare then added a third on 64 minutes after Aspinall came out of his area and failed to clear a long ball.

Berry-McNally got the party going in the first minute of injury time as he smashed the ball in from the edge of the area.

Congratulations to Macclesfield on winning the league and, make sure you keep an eye on the website throughout the weekend as we bring the reaction to the Silkmen’s title-winning success.
