Man arrested in connection with drugs supply

A man has been arrested in connection with drug supply in Newcastle.

Officers from the Northern Disruption Team, working with Newcastle Local Policing Team, arrested the 22-year-old, from Newcastle, on St George’s Road, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class B – cannabis vegetation and acquire/use/possess criminal property.

A search was conducted of his home address and officers discovered approximately £15,000 worth of cannabis vegetation and approximately £30,000 in cash.

The man remains in custody.

Sergeant Rich Hudson, of the Northern Disruption Team, said: “This is an example of proactive team work between the Disruption Team and Newcastle Local Policing Team.

“We are fully committed to tackling the problem of illegal drugs in communities and targeting those involved.”
