Man Jailed Over Child Sexual Offences

A 50-year-old man has been jailed for child sexual offences which saw him dupe a vulnerable woman into accessing her child.

David Gallimore of Bright Street, Blackpool, was convicted on 16 July following a four-day trial at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

On Friday (August 6) at the same court, he was jailed for a total of 32 months for six counts of assault of a child and three counts of possession of indecent images of children.

The court heard how Gallimore abused the trust of a vulnerable woman in order to access her young child and satisfy his depraved sexual urges.

During this period, he also sought out indecent images on his personal device, including the most serious of images – deemed category A.

He received a 22-month sentence for the assault charges and a 10-month sentence for the images, to run consecutively.

Speaking following the sentencing, Detective Constable Jim Ward, officer in charge of the assault case, said: “Gallimore is a man with a distorted and highly dangerous sexualised view of children.

“At no point in the proceedings did he accept responsibility for the horror of his actions and therefore put the young victim through the trauma of a court case.

“I welcome today’s sentence and hope it allows the victim and their family to see that justice has been served.”
