Man Jailed over Uttoxeter Assault

A man has been jailed following an assault on a woman in Uttoxeter in May 2021.

Andrew Frank Woolley, 33, and of Sycamore Close, Uttoxeter was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment on 8 November 2021 at Stafford Crown Court. The 33-year-old was also given a five-year restraining order, which will come into effect after his release.

Woolley, after pleading not guilty, was found guilty of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them with actual bodily harm.

The victim following the assault was left with a number of injuries including two black eyes and bruising.

DC Josh Lee of Staffordshire Police, said: “This was a very distressing incident. I’m glad the victim had the confidence and courage to report this so we could bring this case before the courts.

“We will always do whatever it takes to bring offenders to justice, while ensuring victims and their families are offered the support they need.”
