Moorlands District Council opens reception for longer

Staffordshire Moorlands District Council has extended its reception opening hours at Moorlands House in Leek.

People can now speak to customer services advisors in person between 9.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

The Council also operates reception desks at Biddulph Town Hall, managed by Biddulph Town Council, between 9am and 1pm every week day and from 2pm to 4pm on Mondays and Thursdays.

In Cheadle, people can speak to Council staff on Mondays from 9.30am to 12.30pm and between 1pm and 4pm at 15a – 17 High Street in the town.

Councillor Charlotte Atkins, Cabinet Member for Services, said: “The Council is here for the benefit of Moorlands residents and businesses and we know that being able to speak to someone face to face is important for a lot of people.

“That’s why we’ve extended the opening hours of our reception at Moorlands House in Leek to make it easier for people to call in and see us at a time that suits them.

“The opening hours complement the other ways that we encourage our customers to get in touch with us – which are by telephoning our customer contact centre or using the online services available on our website.

“I hope this reassures people that we are doing all we can to be available and responsive to the needs of the people we’re here to serve.”

The call centre will be closed on 25th and 26th December and 1st January. It will be open on 27th, 28th and 29th December from 9am to 4pm and return to normal opening hours from 2nd January.

All receptions are closed between Christmas and New Year with normal opening resuming from 2nd January.

You can still pay, report and apply online for many of our services and the autopayment line is available 24 hours a day on 0300 456 2763.

For any out of hours emergency calls, please call 0345 605 3010 and you will be transferred to the emergency call line.
