Moorlands Police issue advice to motorists about ‘vehicle quitting’

Police have issued advice to Moorlands motorists about “vehicle quitting.”

This is a term used by police when a vehicle is left with a key in the ignition and the engine running, even when passengers may be in the car.

Moorlands Police have issued details of several incidents recently where they have had to advise motorists.

In one incident, a driver left their 5yr old daughter in the passenger seat and was in a pharmacy for 10 minutes. In another incident on Monday, a delivery driver left his vehicle with the engine running in Cheadle. Two males jumped into the vehicle, drove off and when the driver attempted to stop them they drove it at him.
