Moorlands police provide update on Leek sexual assault

In a statement, Moorlands Police provided the following update:

We’re continuing to progress our lines of enquiry following a report of a sexual assault in Leek.

It happened at about 10pm on Wednesday 22nd May when a woman was sexually assaulted by a man who was wearing a grey hoodie near Burton Street.

She is continuing to receive support from specially-trained officers at this time.

Detectives and local officers have been looking over all of the CCTV from the area at the time, speaking to residents and carrying out enquiries in the local area, which are expected to continue.

We know people have been asking for updates on this incident and we’d like to reassure the local community that our investigation is still very much ongoing.

We also want to thank everyone who has come forward with information, including local people and businesses.
