Moorlands Radio Remembrance Day Coverage [LISTEN]

Crowds flocked back into Leek Town centre yesterday to commemorate the sacrifice of all service men and women in conflicts around the world both past and present.

The Service of Remembrance was held outside the Nicholson War Memorial and was attended by representatives of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, local community groups, political parties and children from local schools.

They were joined by serving members of the armed forces past and present, their families and members of the public remembering loved ones and those wishing to pay tribute to those who fought in armed conflicts who fell or survived.

Moorlands Radio broadcast live from outside the Nicholson War Memorial and you can listen to the whole service below. Local historian Cllr Bill Cawley who is also the Deputy Mayor of Leek Town Council recorded a preview of the service and Dave Stringer and Tony Walley presented the station’s live coverage.
